Getronics recorded weak top-line growth in 4Q10 as economic recovery and a rebound in the Dutch IT services market was largely absent. Getronics generates three-quarters of its revenue from the Netherlands, leaving it highly exposed to a market that is still mired in recession. Demand among corporate IT services clients remains anemic, and vendors continue to see little to no improvement in pricing traction. KPN, Getronics’ parent company, reported demand for both its telecom and IT services in the corporate market in the Netherlands remains weaker than in other European markets, such as Germany. Other European-based IT services competitors, like Atos Origin and Capgemini, have reported similarly disappointing results from their respective operations in the Netherlands and Benelux region over the last several quarters, while their operations in other European locales are beginning to pick up steam.
